Whether you are visiting Indianapolis or live there, you will find that the culture is amazing. There are many different places to go and things to do.

One of the amazing museums that are in Indianapolis is the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art. This museum has a wonderful collection of Native American and Western Arts. If you are able, you should take a chance to eat at the museum’s Sky City Cafe. The full explanation can be found at http://xapatotheworld.wordpress.com/2011/08/17/review-eiteljorg-museum-indianapolis/ It has a fabulous view of the White River’s State Park Central Canal.

A must see when in Indianapolis is the Indiana World War Memorial. This is an absolute marvelous tribute to all of the service people that lost their lives during World War I, World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. This building has a shrine room, the Pershing Auditorium, and in the basement there is a military museum. Within this museum is the history of Indian soldiers.

If you enjoy art and like to browse around looking at various types of art, then you may want to stop by Harrison Center for the Art. There are monthly art shows that are a must to visit.

While in Indianapolis, you may decide to take in a round of golf. With all of the courses that this city has to offer, the only decision to make is which course. A few of the great courses to check into are the Heartland Crossing Golf Links, Prairie View Golf Club, and Purgatory Gulf Club. No matter which one you decide on, you will have a great time.

One additional piece of very exciting news is that Indianapolis will be hosting Super Bowl XLVI. It is guaranteed to be a great time.

With all of the exciting things to do and places to see, Indianapolis is a great city to live in or to take a trip to and visit.

Here are a few of our top eateries to try once you get all settled in
St. Elmo Steakhouse: St. Elmo’s is an institution here and man do they know how to put out a good steak. Order the ribeye medium rare and expect the best service in the city while you’re at it.
Barcelona Tapas: Bet you didn’t know Indy had such a multicultural food scene! From Vietnamese to Russian, we’ve got it all, but our favorite is Barcelona’s. They know how to do tapas the Spanish way and this joint’s best done with a crowd.
Slippery Noodle Inn: Besides the fact that it has the best name in the city, the Slippery Noodle Inn has some of the best Asian in town. It’s slightly Americanized but it’s still got all the flavor you’d expect – we like the Udon with beef, in case you’re wondering.

Few cities in the United States can claim a stronger cultural scene than Indianapolis, which boasts six specially designated cultural districts alongside the usual complement of museums and art galleries. These neighborhoods form the vibrant cultural heart of the city, and each has its own special flair. Massachusetts Avenue, for example, flaunts its theatres while the Wholesale District boasts the renowned Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra.
Within and outside of these urban hotspots, however, art remains an important cultural focus for Indianapolis. The two grandest symbols of this devotion are the Indianapolis Museum of Art and the Indianapolis Atsgarden. Both of these buildings offer trendy, modern homes for some of the city’s finest art and artists.
Lastly, no mention of Indianapolis’ culture should go without a description of one of its most famous landmarks, the Athenaeum. Named after the Roman word for a school of the arts, the Athenaeum now serves a variety of culturally important organizations. Foremost among these, perhaps, are the German societies that represent the building’s original intent. Many of these are essential bastions of Germanic culture in an increasingly Americanized Midwest. Within its walls are also two theatres and an orchestra, all of which serve to truly make Indianapolis a city of cultural wonders.
